Door leden, ouders, vrijwilligers, sponsoren en supporters is er een grote betrokkenheid tussen het dorp Voorschoten en de hockeyclub. De vereniging is daardoor zichtbaar en heeft een 'gunfactor', maar beseft dat dit niet vanzelfsprekend is. Die houding vertaalt zich niet alleen in sport, maar ook in de bredere gemeenschap: Forescate profileert zich bewust als een maatschappelijk betrokken club. De club speelt op Sportpark Adegeest in een lichtblauw shirt met donkerblauwe kraag en mouwen, donkerblauwe broek of rok en donkerblauwe kousen. De accommodatie trekt de aandacht van verder dan Voorschoten: drie van de vier velden zijn sinds aanleg in 2016 showcases voor producent Polytan, die al jaren de leverancier is van alle olympische hockeyvelden. Dat maakt Adegeest tot een adres waar internationale veldenmakers graag naar verwijzen. ## Sportieve identiteit Foresccate investeert structureel in jeugd. De club heeft een groot aantal jeugdteams waarvan de eerste teams gemiddeld uitkomen in de topklasse of subtop, en een aantal teams promoveert en degradeert regelmatig naar de landelijke competities, afhankelijk van de sterkte van een leeftijdscategorie. Dat patroon, een brede basis met een subtop in de jeugd, is herkenbaar voor clubs die bewust inzetten op doorstroom vanuit eigen gelederen. ## Eerste teams Heren 1 maakt dit seizoen een wisselvallig jaar door in de Overgangsklasse Poule B. Met een achtste plek in de eindstand is degradatie afgewend, maar het seizoen had meer in zich: na een thuiszege op Groningen H1 (4-0) volgden een gelijkspel uit bij Spandersbosch en een 4-5 thuisnederlaag tegen Were Di in de laatste ronde. De linie tussen stabiliseren en verder opklimmen bleef dun. Dames 1 sloot het reguliere seizoen af als zevende in de Tweede klasse Poule A: een middenmoter met piekjes. Een thuiszege op Abcoude D1 (5-1) en een knappe driepunter thuis tegen UNO D1 (4-3) in de slotfase lieten zien dat er meer tempo in zit dan de eindstand suggereert. ## Nuttig om te weten Naast de bijdrage van sport aan gezondheid krijgen sportiviteit en respect bij Forescate nadrukkelijk aandacht, net als het aanbod van G-Hockey. De club ging nog een stap verder: het clubhuis fungeert als verbindingspunt met de wijk, onder meer via seniorenfit en taalklassen. Dat het sportpark letterlijk diep verankerd ligt in Voorschoten, bleek ook op een andere manier: onder Sportpark Adegeest werd de RijnlandRoute aangelegd, een boortunnel die rechtstreeks onder de hockeyvelden door gaat. Niet elke club kan zeggen dat er een snelwegtunnel onder de middellijn loopt. ## Traditie en geschiedenis MHC Forescate vierde op 6, 7 en 8 april 2012 het 50-jarig bestaan van de vereniging, wat de oprichting in 1962 plaatst. Sindsdien groeide de club uit tot een vaste waarde in Zuid-Holland. Heren 1 promoveerde in seizoen 2008/2009 van de vierde naar de derde klasse, stootte door naar de tweede klasse en veroverde in 2013/2014 na een beslissende slotwedstrijd tegen MHC Rijswijk de eerste klasse. Ook Dames 1 kende een lange historie in de eerste klasse, viel terug naar de derde klasse in het eerste decennium van deze eeuw, werd in 2008/2009 kampioen van de poule en keerde na een omweg via de derde klasse in 2013/2014 opnieuw terug in de tweede klasse. ## Teams (138) ### Senioren -
